Enhancing Bacup Nursery: Our Unique Composite Classroom Installation

When Bacup Nursery approached us with the idea of creating a durable and inspiring classroom space, we were excited to bring their vision to life with our custom composite classroom installation.

To begin the project, we first needed to create a concrete pad for the classroom. This foundational step was essential as it would provide a stable and durable surface for the classroom structure. The concrete pad not only ensures the classroom's longevity but also helps to mitigate issues related to moisture and uneven ground. During this groundwork period, the team also laid the ducting for the electrical connections.

We then proceeded to install what would become Bacup Nursery's new 6m x 5m composite classroom, a project that would transform the learning environment for the children and staff. The design was carefully crafted to offer a modern and functional space. It included 10 tall windows, which allowed natural light to flood the room, creating a bright and airy atmosphere conducive to learning. In addition, a set of elegant French doors at the front of the classroom provided easy access to the outdoor area, encouraging a seamless connection between the indoor and outdoor spaces. To ensure a comfortable environment throughout the year, the internal walls of the classroom were fitted with Kingspan Insulation and wooden cladding, which helped regulate the temperature and improve energy efficiency. The wooden cladding added an aesthetic touch, enhancing the warmth and natural feel of the room while also contributing to its durability. For the exterior, we applied a sleek and durable composite cladding, which not only gave the building a modern, stylish appearance but also provided an extra layer of protection against the elements. The composite material is low-maintenance and highly resistant to weathering, ensuring the classroom will continue to look great and stand the test of time.

The team then shifted their focus onto installing the flooring and ceiling. They first focused on installing the suspended ceiling, carefully positioning the panels to create a clean, modern look while also accommodating the necessary lighting fixtures and insulation. Following that, they turned their attention to the vinyl flooring, ensuring a durable and visually appealing surface that would withstand daily wear.

Next, we moved on to the electrical installation, ensuring the classroom was fully equipped to meet all functional and safety requirements. We began by installing the electrical supply and a 10-way distribution board to provide reliable power throughout the space. The suspended ceiling was fitted with 12 energy-efficient LED panel lights and 3 infrared heaters, offering both warmth and ample lighting. We also added 3 radiators and 10 double sockets inside the classroom to maximize comfort and convenience. Outside, 6 external lights with emergency battery backups were installed, ensuring the space remained safe and well-lit. All lighting and electrical systems were controlled by a multi-gang switch inside the classroom, allowing for easy operation.

We ensure that all our classrooms are fully equipped with a comprehensive fire safety package to prioritize the safety and well-being of everyone within the space. Each classroom is fitted with two smoke detectors, a manual call point for immediate fire alerting, and a fire alarm panel for efficient response. Additionally, we have strategically placed both CO2 and foam fire extinguishers with clear signage for easy identification. To further enhance safety measures, every classroom includes a zone panel for monitoring and a document panel to provide essential fire safety information. These precautions collectively ensure a secure and responsive environment in case of an emergency.

In addition to the classroom we also Installed a play mound in the playground, featuring a tunnel and slide. This play structure offers numerous benefits for children, encouraging physical activity and social interaction. The play mound provides a safe environment for children to climb, crawl, and explore, helping them develop their motor skills and coordination. The tunnel and slide add an element of fun and adventure, promoting imaginative play while also boosting confidence as children navigate the space. Overall, the play mound is a valuable addition to the playground, fostering both physical and cognitive growth in a playful way.

The classroom, offering the combination of natural light, modern design elements, and top-tier safety features ensures that both children and staff will benefit from a bright, safe, and inviting classroom for years to come. Where as the play mound, with its tunnel and slide, adds an exciting element to the outdoor space.
